/ 內容簡介(英文) / Wang To was a native of Meng-chin, Honan. A Presented Scholar (chin-shih) of 1622, he became Minister of Rites. He was good at calligraphy, poetry, and archaic script, also painting landscapes and orchids and bamboo. Wang’s callig-raphy followed that of Yen Chen-ch’ing, Huang T’ing-chien, and Mi Fu, to which he added the Two Wangs (Wang Hsi-chih, Wang Hsien-chih) for his own style. In this work of large cursive characters (entrusted from the Lan-ch’ien shan-kuan collection), the contents transcribe volume one of emperor Yuan-ti’s calligraphy in “Ch’un-hua Pavilion Modelbooks” with some difference; the brush force is strong and vigorous as lines are heavy with beautiful movement. The arrangement is exacting, demonstrating powerful majesty.
