TAIWAN JINJAThe Shrine was erected in the 34th year of Meiji on Kentanzan, Taihoku, and dedicated to the late H.I.H. Prince Kita-Shirakawa,enshrined together Okuni-tama-no-mikoto, Amenomunachi-no-mikoto,and Sukunahiko-no-mikoto. These deities are the guardian gods bythe Island, and a grand annual festival is held on the anniversaryof the death of the Prince on the 28th of October. The day isalso observed as a general holiday in Taiwan. The premises of theShrine command particularly beautiful surroundings and is in factone of the eight best views of the Island.
