ʹPing An Lanternʹ (Lantern for Safety and Well,平安燈)

The Lantern Festival is also called "San Yuan Day"(上元日) in Taoism and connected with the "Official of Heaven" (天官), who is in charge of bestowing good fortune. Therefore, the temples in Taiwan would set up the Lantern for Safety and Well for the believers to walk through under it for praying the blessings from the "Official of Heaven". When walking through, the believers always stop to stand under the Latern for a while to meditating their wishes for the bright future and feeling the peaceful warm light from the Lantern.
