Large-scale Lantern in the Model of Hsuan Wu (玄武)

In the Taipei Lantern Fair, the Latern Show spreads in the surrounding areas of National Taiwan Democracy Memorial Hall. Many large-scale lanterns displayed in the show are designed in traditional models such as the twelve zodiac animals, the legendary auspcious creatures and the statues of the wealth gods. There are alson modern themes like Taipei 101 building, MRT trains and three dimensional logos of enterprises in Taiwan. The picture is the lantern in the model of Hsuan Wu(玄武), a sacred patron animal of the North in Taoism, whose body is a snake combined with a turtoise, both of which are believed to have the magic powers to protect people.
