By providing bread tortoises to the temples, the believers not only display their piety to the gods but also share the fortunes for success and wealth with others. Traditionally, the braed tortoises are made of flour or rice. Nowadays, the prevalent style is golden tortoises made of coins or gold plates and could be taken as the amulets or the beautiful decorations on the Lantern Festival.
