The Emperor of Heaven is called "Tien Gong" in Taiwanese. In the traditinal belief, the heavenly world of the gods is similar to the bureaucratic system of the secular world, in which the Emperor of Heaven is like the Emperor of a kingdom, leading all civil and military officials in the Heaven. The Tien Gong belief originated from "the Supreme God of Heaven" belief in ancient times and later He has become "the Emperor of Heaven" under the influence of Taoist theology.
