If oneʹs animal sign, that is, his birth year or his age, ‘offends Tai Suei’(犯太歲), he would have bad fortunes that year. During the Lunar New Year, the temples in Taiwan would provide the service of holding the rituals of ‘An Tai Suei’ (Appeasing the God of Planet Jupiter, 安太歲), performed by Taoist priests or Masters, to appease the god of planet Jupiter and pray for special blessings from the god for those who ‘offends Tai Suei’ to avoid bad fortunes.
