The Earth God, commonly named ʹTu Di Gongʹ(土地公), is the patron of the agriculture and because the crops were the main economic resources in the past, Tu Di Gong has also been regarded as a wealth god. On the Moon Festival, the believers will prepare moon cakes, rice noodles with taro (米粉芋) and animal sacrifices to offer to Tu Di Gong and a bamboo rod attached with paper money and three joss sticks called ʹTu Di Gong Guaiʹ (the Cane of the Earth God,土地公拐) will be erected in the middle of the farm offered to Tu Di Gong as His cane.
