The Seventh Eve Festival is also the birthday of Kui Sing(The God of the ‘Kui’ Star,魁星), the tutelary god of the students and the scholars. In the morning of the Seventh Eve Festival, Kai Long Temple in Tainan Coumty (台南開隆宮)will invite the Mayor of Tainan City to host the interesting parade for the students who had just passed the strict and competitive entrance exam. Costumed in the traditional Zhuang Yuan Fu (Clothes of the Number One Scholar in the Imperial Examination, 狀元服), the students will walk around the City led by the first rank student in the entrance exam that year riding on a horse.
