史料原文/譯文In the 1950s, former president Chiang Kai-shek arrived at Taoyuan Daxi's Baiji Tunnel entryway. Unable to carry on by car, he took the palanquin and was deeply moved by Cihu area's resemblance to his hometown in Zhejiang, China.
In 1955, Banqiao Lin Ben-Yuan's family unconditionally offered 19 acres of land for military use; it later became Chiang's Guesthouse. In 1959, it was built to be "Tunnel entry's Guesthouse" then as "Cihu Guesthouse." After Chiang's passing, it was changed to Cihu Mausoleum in 1975, and added an administrative office for guest services etc.. It has been under Taoyuan government's jurisdiction since 2007.
Cihu Mausoleum is nestled in the mountains while overlooking the water. It resembles a Minnan-Zhejiang Siheyuan-style home built with red bricks, with side doors reaching to the garden, and a bombproof center at the back. A wooden inscription plaque "Cihu" and Chiang's casket are displayed in the living room; Chiang family members' rooms, the memorabilia room, VIP guestroom and historical records room are also part of the Mausoleum.
