　　興源後方為林本源家族的「通議第」，所以規模受到圍牆的限制，僅有兩落一過水。目前的牌樓面經「大溪和平路美化工程」改造，將矩形山牆回復為山尖形，兩側女兒牆加高並作水平收邊，下方紅磚砌築的圓弧拱在戰後改建成鋼筋混凝土水平橫樑，表面改為洗石子，「老朝陽家具」的字體則是仿原堂號「李興源」的字體所增設。

    Due to the shop's backside attachment to the Lin Mansion owner's property walls, its construction conformed to its design and only had two enclosures and one rain-avoiding corridor. After the "Daxi Heping Rd.'s Embellishing Project," the arcade facade's rectangular gable was restored to triangular-shaped. Parapet walls on both sides were elevated and trimmed horizontally; after the war, the red-bricked archways changed into reinforced concrete horizontal beams, with a washed granolithic surface.
