　　這是大溪老街中少見的兩層樓街屋。大溪老街街屋多往後頭發展，一落、二落、三落地往後加，兩層樓的少見，因台語「樓」、「流」同音，老一輩的說：「財產是靠水流的，樓仔厝驚乎水流去」。或許也因為都是一樓厝，老闆們便花了許多心思在牌樓面上較勁，相較之下這兩層樓的店屋倒顯得樸素許多，然而其紅磚砌的牌樓面仍展現了日治時期大溪街屋的特色。

    "The two-storied building is one rare sight in Daxi. Most of Daxi Old Street's architecture makes housing additions on the ground level; the rarity of two-storied buildings relates to "floor" (sounds like "gone" in Taiwanese dialect) based on an ancient Chinese wealth building philosophy. When compared with one-storied facade, it fades in its elaborateness, though one can still spot the red-bricked design from the Japanese colonial times."
